To evaluate the occurrence of myonecrosis, acute renal failure (ARF), and secondary infections in patients who were victims of snakebites caused by Bothrops atrox in the Amazon. Method: This is an observational, descriptive, and retrospective study with a quantitative approach, based on the manual analysis of 20 patient records included in the doctoral project "PHOTOBIOMODULATION THERAPY FOR THE TREATMENT OF SNAKEBITE ACCIDENTS CAUSED BY BOTHROPS ATROX". A simple descriptive presentation was made on the laboratory and clinical parameters, in absolute frequencies (n) and proportions (%), stratified by groups (Laser and Control). Results: The occurrence of myonecrosis was the same for both groups (10%). Secondary infection was more frequent in the control group (60%) compared to the laser group (50%). No patient in the laser group presented ARF, while two cases (20%) were identified in the control group. Conclusion: Myonecrosis and acute renal failure were found to be less frequent complications. Secondary infection was more prevalent, highlighting the importance of assessing the local inflammatory state and providing appropriate antibiotic therapy. The findings reinforce the relevance of organized care practices oriented towards the early recognition of complications, contributing to timely interventions and better clinical outcomes.
