Entre véus e cuidados: escrevivências de uma estudante muçulmana no curso de Enfermagem da Universidade do Estado do Amazonas

Abstract

To narrate and reflect, through the lens of escrevivência, upon the academic, cultural, and identity-based experiences of a Muslim student in the Nursing program at the Universidade do Estado do Amazonas (UEA).Method: Qualitative, autobiographical research based on the methodology of escrevivência. The data sources consisted of personal narratives written by the author, organized into thematic axes related to prejudice, acceptance, spirituality, and belonging. The analysis was interpretative, connecting individual experiences to theoretical reflections on cultural diversity, identity, and nursing care. Results: The narratives revealed situations of prejudice but also experiences of institutional and interpersonal support that fostered a sense of belonging. Spirituality emerged as a central element of resilience and as an ethical foundation for care, contributing to a broader understanding of the role of faith in professional training and practice. Conclusion: The narrated experience demonstrates that recognizing and valuing religious diversity are essential for building inclusive academic environments and for developing a more humanized, empathetic, and culturally sensitive nursing practice.
