Um estudo em vermelho, do livro ao seriado: uma análise da metodologia investigativa de Sherlock Holmes a partir da teoria peirceana

Abstract

The present study investigates how Peirce's theory, mainly the trichotomy of the arguments - abduction, deduction and induction - is handled by Sherlock Holmes in the resolution of his cases. We will point out the importance of the abductive method in the investigation, as well as the different resources it uses by it that functions as a way of affirming the relevance of Peirce's thesis. The corpus of the work is composed of the book A study in scarlet, by Conan Doyle, and the chapter A study in pink, of the series Sherlock presented by the BBC London, that allows us to analyze the adjustments made, as well as, confirm the presence of an element that is perpetuated, contributing to the formulation of the hypothesis: the creativity.
