Emoção, cultura e calor na Amazônia: um estudo sobre o conforto térmico das torcidas nas arquibancadas laterais do bumbódromo em época de Festival Folclórico de Parintins - Amazonas

Abstract

The Bumbódromo, created in 1988 to be the stage for the Parintins Folkloric Festival, the center of the dispute between the Boi-Bumbá Folkloric Associations Garantido and Caprichoso, is an example of a structure developed to receive the maximum number of spectators in the paying sectors. All the renovations and extensions carried out since its inauguration were developed without taking into account the climatic factors that affect the city in June, especially the heat wave caused by the increase in population and the accumulation of vehicles. Thermal comfort has become an indispensable concept to shed light on the well-being of the visitor who attends the Festival from the side stands of the Bumbódromo because, through research, interviews and informal conversations, it was realized that this spectator is subject to all kinds of bad weather, both in the queues and inside the Bumbódromo, which can cause unnecessary physical wear and tear. The exploratory nature of the research made it possible to gather important information during the festival period using a semi-structured questionnaire with a total of 30 samples divided between the access queues for the Caprichoso and Garantido bulls, as well as photographic records, temperature measurements and the use of the Thermal Comfort Index (TCI). These materials served as a guide for drawing up proposals to reduce the effects of thermal discomfort on spectators throughout their stay at the Festival.
