A representação do espaço em contos de Horácio Quiroga e Arthur Engrácio

Abstract

The present work consists of a comparative study of two authors, Arthur Engrácio and Horácio Quiroga, two short story writers, the first one from and the second, Uruguayan-Argentine. The objective is to compare the elements of representation of jungle scenarios. Of bibliographical nature, the research provides a descriptive comparison of the jungle space in the tales "Áspero chão de Santa Rita", by Arthur Engrácio and "Um pawn", by Horácio Quiroga. For the realization of this proposal, we resorted initially to the bibliography Gotlib (1988), Bosi (1974), in the spatial perspective, Brandão (2013), Candido (2006). The relevance of the research is realized by the analysis of the space in the literary works literary works, of the historical, geographical, social and cultural contexts.
