Resumo
This research aimed to analyze how the continued training of teachers contributes to innovation and improvement of educational quality in the 9th grade of elementary school. Expose the importance of continuing training for teachers to work in contemporary times, indicate the relevance of using new technologies to innovate teaching and learning, investigate the continuing training courses available for the area of humanities and find out which continuing training courses were taken by teachers in the last five (5) years. The methodological path was based on bibliographical research, based on authors such as Nóvoa (1991), Perrenoud and Thurler (2002), Gil (2002), Delors (2003), Antunes (2003), Paiva (2005), Unesco (2009) , Beneti (2009), Pereira (2011), França (2011), Wengzynski and Tozetto (2012), Monteiro and Pimenta (2013), Corrêa, Cavalcante and Bissoli (2016) and Mattos (2020). The field research was carried out in two public schools in the municipality of Tefé – AM; with six Portuguese language teachers being investigated. Under the qualitative approach, the questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument, consisting of 09 (questions) questions. The data obtained was analyzed in a descriptive manner, which demonstrated that educational institutions do not provide continuous training courses for educators in the area of humanities. Therefore, it was found that this training is important for teacher training and preparation,however, schools do not provide and support their teachers, thus, the updating and use of new teaching methodologies are not applied and offered to 9th grade students.
