O papel do sítio Arqueológico do Macurany para a compreensão da formação social de Parintins (AM)

Abstract

To begin to understand the role of archaeological heritage in our history, it is necessary to know the traditional wisdom of the indigenous peoples of the Amazon. From this perspective, this study aimed to highlight the relevance of the Macurany archaeological site for understanding the social formation of Parintins. To this end, we sought to identify the characteristics of the Macurany archaeological site, verify the relationship of the State with the archaeology of the city of Parintins, and highlight the relationship of the residents who live in the Macurany archaeological site with the archaeology of the place. In order to achieve these objectives, we adopted methodological procedures such as conducting interviews with families living in the vicinity of the study area regarding the subject. As for the results, it was proven that the residents had a vision before and after learning about the subject, this is linked to the active participation of the residents in academic research actions. Among the main considerations, it is believed that heritage education is the key to beginning to rewrite our history based on the pre-colonial period, since we are often unaware of our roots.
