Resumo
Physalacriaceae belongs to the order Agaricales, class Agaricomycetes, phylum
Basidiomycota, kingdom Fungi. It currently groups 33 genera and 797 species,
considering synonyms, subspecies and varieties. Given that taxonomy is the basic
science for many biotechnological studies and that the Amazon forest has an
environment conducive to fungal growth, this research aimed to develop a taxonomic
study of specimens of the family Physalacriaceae collected in the Bosque da Ciência
(INPA), in Manaus/AM. The collections occurred weekly during the months from
Oct/2018 to Mar/2019. The fungi were collected and photographed at different angles
in their habitat along with the corresponding collector number. The description of the
macrostructures was carried out with the fresh material. The specimens were
dehydrated and then analyzed for their micromorphology. The identification of fungal
collections was done based on specific literature. Twenty-five field activities were
performed, 14 collections were obtained, determined as Oudemansiella platensis.
The absence of other species can be due to the fact that the basidiomata are
reproductive structures, therefore, occasional. The taxonomic study of the
Physalacriaceae in an area of Central Amazonia, with the presence of O. platensis,
contributes to the discovery of the diversity of fungi in the family in Brazil and the
Neotropics. Other studies should be developed to identify other species of the family
in more areas of the central Amazon.
