Um estudos sobre as práticas de linguagens de umbandistas parintinense: Seara do Caboclo Pena Verde de mãe Sofia

Abstract

The general objective of this work is to understand the language practices used by Umbanda practitioners from Parintins in a field in Parintins. The main theorists are: Dell Hymes (2009), Bortoni-Ricardo (2014), Ortiz (1999), Silveira and Bianchezzi (2019) and Rohde (2009). The study presents a methodology with a qualitative perspective, with bibliographic research, field research, observations, questionnaires, interviews and notes. The analyzes were carried out based on the Ethnography of Communication by Hymes, along with Interactional Sociolinguistics. It was possible to verify that there is no problem in worshiping Umbanda, its language and actions are of paramount importance, the acquisition of skills is comprehensive in this environment. This religion needs to be seen with new eyes that exile religious racism and existing prejudices in relation to those who live this form of faith.
