Resumo
This research focuses on the evaluation of the use of games in PowerPoint as a
didactic-pedagogical tool in the cartozgraphic literacy process in the early grades. In
order to perform this work it was first necessary to problematize the situation of
students from Elementary School II in relation to cartographic contents, it was noticed
that many students were not well literate in the early grades and consequently could
not assimilate the contents related to cartography. One of the factors for this deficit
in cartographic literacy in the early grades is the lack of tools that can stimulate the
child to understand cartographic contents, these contents when presented to
students in a traditional oral way or disconnected from children's reality become dull
and hard to learn. The method chosen for the construction of this research was the
qualitative one, in the first stage, a bibliographic survey was made for the theoretical
foundation of the research and from this documentation began the process of
building games in PowerPoint that served as didactic-pedagogical tools, in the
second stage, fieldwork was carried out where the games were applied in the
classroom and the teachers and students were submitted to questionnaires, in the
last stage, the data obtained in the field were compiled and analyzed. The results
showed that students have difficulty with the cartography discipline, most of them,
due to lack of cartographic literacy, most teachers in the early grades do not usually
use games that facilitate cartographic learning, even knowing that games are the tool
that more holds the attention of students and that the games in PowerPoint can
facilitate the process of cartographic literacy when used as a didactic-pedagogical
tool. It was found that there is a difficulty in relation to the teaching-learning of
cartography in the early grades and that this problem is associated with the lack of
search for didactic-pedagogical tools, in this sense, PowerPoint games are an
excellent didactic tool, a tool one able to provide meaningful learning for students,
therefore, provides the playful and stimulates children to develop their spatial skills.
