Migrantes cearenses nas décadas de 1980 – 1990 no comércio de Parintins-AM

Abstract

The people from Ceará in Parintins/Am are one of the main players in local commerce, coming from migrations due to economic situations and in search of development in the region. The commerce sector is the main source of income for many of them who still work today, established themselves and pursued this dream. Given this fact, the present work aims to analyze the different factors that led to the process of migration of the northeastern people to the north region, specifically to the city of Parintins-AM, to present the historical context of the migrants from Ceará, to verify the history of the migrants since their coming to the city of Parintins and how they are currently, describing the factors that aroused the interest of migrants from Ceará to the municipality of Parintins and their role and relevance in commerce. This research is carried out “in loco” directly in the place where the investigation of the factors is taking place, with the support of citizens from Ceará who, between 1980 and 1990, migrated to the city of Parintins/Amazonas. Bibliographic research and a survey of people who fit this profile were carried out, later, interviews that sought the reports of this migratory process and its performance in local commerce, each interview was systematically analyzed by the author. It is concluded that despite the great difficulties, even today with the current situation in the world, since the economic crisis and the pandemic, these migrants still prosper in the municipality.
