Resumo
This research focuses on the political-pedagogical role of the family / community of parents and guardians in the context of the School Council. In particular, the objective was to identify what knowledge parents have about the competence of the School Council in its form of action; list initiatives / actions that contribute to sensitize parents about the importance of the School Board and its participation; and to analyze political-pedagogical issues as a result of the parental partnership in the School Council and the participatory democratic management of the school. The methodology used in the research was qualitative, also using an approach of the dialectical method. The research was carried out in the Urban Zone of the City of Manaus-AM in a school of the Municipal Network. As a result of the interpretations, it was identified that the community of parents and guardians is committed to the education of their children and that they understand the importance of the functioning of the School Council as an instrument of educational achievement, where they exercise communion and dialogue (FREIRE, 1987 ) with the direction of the school in the decisions that contribute to the solutions of the problems of the school context, always having the commitment of the family with the democratic and participative management in this sense. Therefore, it is necessary to make a wish and seek a democratic education where the participation of the parents in the eagerness of effective educational achievements through the School Council is indispensable. In this sense, the research points to the need of involving the family / community of parents and responsible in the pedagogical political process aiming at effective results with the contribution of democratic and participatory management. The research aims to contribute to the debate on the subject, in the undergraduate courses in Pedagogy and in the scope of the Basic Education Schools, aiming to understand the challenges and perspectives of the political-pedagogical role of the family / community of parents and responsible in the School Council and we can emphasize that valued, educated and prepared to work in the school in collaboration with the management, they become excellent partners and promoters of a transformative education with excellent results.
