Resumo
Produce an educational guide based on scientific evidence available in
literature on self-care strategies for adolescents living with diabetes mellitus
type 1. Method: Methodological study carried out in two phases: literature review and
production of the first version of the guide. Results: The revision of the guide made it possible to access 11
articles. From the analysis and synthesis of the articles, 9 generating themes emerged. The first version of
guide was organized based on the generating themes. The Guide contains texts with language
simple illustrations that refer to the texts. Conclusion: The guide was produced based on
scientific evidence that provides safe and up-to-date information and can
contribute to the adoption of an appropriate lifestyle, a fundamental factor in controlling
metabolic rate of adolescents with type 1 Diabetes Mellitus
