Resumo
This paper aims to present how the female body has been represented in
in children's literature through the work Eleanor & Park, by Rainbow Rowell,
with theoretical basis in the typologies (re)created by Elódia Xavier. The research goes through
by the historicity of the body, the concept advocated by some authors such as Silvana Vilodre
(2013) that addresses the body represented in the media and Jean-Jacques Courtine (2013) who
develops researches of the body from the thoughts of Foucault. The research shows
how the female body is shown as subject and object always present in the narrative and the
ideological developments that arise from this presence, for example, the processes of
legitimation or questioning of stereotypical standards of physical beauty. Moreover, it is made
the analysis of the female characters (Eleanor, the mother and Tina) of Rowell's work, from
postulates about the position of the woman/girl in literary works and the reflection of family and
and school in the formation of personality.
Keywords: children's literature; body; feminine.
