Brazil has been widely recognized for the hydroponic technique for growing lettuce.
Despite presenting a great advantage to conventional planting, there are meticulous activities
when it comes to the care of the hydroponics nutritional solution. Thus, the need to have an
automatic system became essential to favor the nutrient treatment procedure. Currently, the
manual process adopted is to collect a sample of the solution and measure the pH and
conductivity, which means the level of acidity and salts in the system. Depending on the
measurement, based on specific literature, water or nutrients are added to balance the solution.
This scenario is repeated to control and reach the ideal amount of nutrients and
simultaneously there is liquid circulation in the hydroponics at interspersed times where these
nutrients are absorbed by the plants. In this context, the present work aimed to implement a
device that measures and inserts inputs into the nutrient solution using a sensory
minicomputer. In this way, the mechanical structure was designed, the electrical scheme and
then their assembly. After that, an application capable of controlling and verifying the data
present in the garden was developed. All of this, resulting in a small hydroponic garden that is
able to grow lettuce with the worker's interaction, adding an advantage in the ease of
analyzing the current state of nutrients.
