Resumo

For this work, it was a qualitative research, where it was made a State of the Art cut about the developed theme. It was also used the application of questionnaire and accompanied observations in order to verify how the teaching-learning process was happening, but specifically, turned to the use of alternative didactic resources related to the units and measures of the International System. The main objective of this work was to analyze the application of the alternative didactic resources in the teaching-learning process of mathematics in the 1st grade of Secondary School. As a result, it can be observed the making of a model in the classroom, awakening students' interest in other areas of knowledge such as STEAM, which is related to the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. It is concluded that investing time in planning as to the development of a model enables the development of skills and expands students' existing notions.
