Resumo
Chapters 1 and 2 explore the theoretical basis and methodology of the research, respectively. Where, in the theoretical basis, there is a historical approach to algebra, and also to the mathematicians who influenced the algebraic identities and their origins, finally regarding the type of problems used in the applications, highlighting the importance of these problems. Already in the methodology is outlined the path and type of research that was carried out in this work, where are placed the procedures and techniques that made possible the investigation of algebraic identities: the research was qualitative and the instrument of data collection was the bibliographic research .

Nos capítulos 1 e 2 são explorados respectivamente a fundamentação teórica e a metodologia da pesquisa. Onde, na fundamentação teórica tem-se uma abordagem histórica da álgebra, e também dos matemáticos que influenciaram as identidades algébricas e suas origens, por fim a respeito do tipo de problemas utilizados nas aplicações, destacando a importância desses problemas. Já na metodologia é traçado o caminho e tipo de pesquisa que foi realizado neste trabalho, onde são colocados os procedimentos e as técnicas que tornaram possível a investigação das identidades algébricas: a pesquisa realizada foi qualitativa e o instrumento de coleta de dados foi a pesquisa bibliográfica.
