Resumo

Identify evidence in scientific productions on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on indigenous populations in the Brazilian Amazon Method: This is an integrative review, a method that includes the analysis of relevant published research, enabling the synthesis of knowledge on a given subject , in addition, points out the gaps that need to be filled with new research. The research question was prepared according to the PICo strategy (P – population; I – intervention/area of interest; Co – context). Therefore, the following structure was considered: P=indigenous; I=COVID-19l; Co: Brazilian Amazon. Thus, the question of this review was defined as follows: What scientific evidence is available on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on indigenous populations in the Amazon? Results: This integrative review included 18 scientific articles that address indigenous populations in the Brazilian Amazon during the COVID-19 pandemic. The scientific production was published in Portuguese, English and Spanish; in electronic databases, mostly, 9 (50%) in Scopus, 8 (45%) in Pubmed/Medline and only 1 (5%) in the Lilacs database. Conclusion: It was noticeable that the COVID-19 pandemic had several impacts on these populations, from the government's negligence in policies to protect these people; weakening of environmental policies that enabled and encouraged invaders; as many feared there was a high number of people infected by the disease and these numbers were due in part to cultural issues and social inequalities that these populations face
