Resumo
The present Final Course Work entitled “Reading and Textual Production Practices in Portuguese Language Classes in a Countryside School of Elementary Education II in the Municipality of Parintins - AM”, has as its main objective to analyze how reading and textual production are applied in Portuguese Language classes in a countryside school, which is located in a community in the Municipality of Parintins. The research was based on theoretical concepts from Solé (1998), Antunes (2003), Matencio (2012), Marcuschi (2003), Alves (2009), and other authors who contributed significantly to the progress of this research. The work was based on a qualitative methodology, with the hypothetical-deductive method and having as a type of research the field and bibliographic study. . The research subjects were 8th and 9th grade students and Portuguese language teachers at the school where the research was conducted. Regarding data collection, the techniques used were interviews, questionnaires and a workshop proposed with the classes. Thus, the results point to the importance of reading and production practices in Portuguese language classes, and how these practices are used and applied in the classroom, in a public school, located in the rural area of Parintins - AM, called a field school.
