Resumo
Global competitiveness through globalization makes the search for defect
reduction and continuous improvement increasingly evident. Electronic manufacturing
is responsible for a large part of the market today, as it is a consumer good used by a
large part of the population. The present work portrays the study carried out in an
electronics company of the Industrial Pole of Manaus in the SMT sector where the
printed circuit boards are mounted. Through this work, opportunities to implement
Lean Six Sigma were identified in order to improve the quality of the process. For this,
we sought to map the production process, identify the biggest offenders and suggest
improvements through the implementation of Lean Six Sigma tools. Through the case
study with the application of the DMAIC methodology in an electronic board company
in Manaus, it was possible to analyze and suggest improvements to the process
through the sequence of the scope of the tool. Thus, as a conclusion, the use of the
well-defined methodology of DMAIC brought benefits to the company and thus
providing the improvement of the process quality.
