Estratégias de prevenção de lesões por pressão em clínicas médicas de hospitais públicos brasileiros : uma revisão integrativa de literatura

Abstract

Study focusing on pressure injuries in public hospitals in Brazil, outlining strategies, prevention and quality and patient safety. Objective: To describe in updated scientific literature in Brazil the rates of pressure injuries in medical clinics in public hospitals in Brazil and prevention strategies, with the aim of contributing to the improvement of health practices. Method: This is an integrative literature review, with a qualitative approach that aims to gather, synthesize, integrate and highlight research results with the applicability of the pressure injury protocol in Brazil. Data collection consisted of implementing the protocol created by the author with the following steps: Human resources; Question; Goals; Study design; Inclusion criteria; Exclusion criteria; Search strategies; Data collect; Capturing work; Critical validation of studies; Information to be extracted from the productions/analysis category. Studies published in the last ten years (2019-2024) were included to ensure the timeliness and relevance of the data. Results: Includes 9 articles that highlight measures to prevent pressure injuries with positive results and evaluate the knowledge of nursing professionals on the topic, of which 6 (55.55%) were found in the CAPES database; 3 (44.45%) in the LILACS/BDENF database and 0 (0.0%) study in the PUBMED database. The analytical categories that emerged from the study were: Prevalence and risk factors; Strategies and gaps in knowledge for future research and Nursing actions as care and prevention strategies. Conclusion: According to the findings presented, it is concluded that the main practices for preventing pressure injuries in patients in medical clinics in public hospitals are related to direct or indirect skin care and nursing actions
