Resumo
This study stems from academic productivity that arose from reflections on the importance of recovering and recording the historical trajectory of one of the pioneering courses in teacher training at the University of the State of Amazonas (UEA) since its inception. It is a historical review, from its beginnings as a Higher Normal Course to the present day as a Pedagogy Course. We reflected on how UEA records the history of its courses beyond the scope of pedagogical projects and sought to ascertain whether there is research that concretely demonstrates the history of a course and its developments to meet the specificities of higher education in the Amazonian reality. Considering the number of professionals graduating from ENS/UEA in the area of of Teacher Training, whether through qualification in Regular Courses or Special Courses (PARFOR, modular and Technology-Mediated), and how much the Pedagogy Course has contributed to education in the Amazon region and other states, we also consider that, in recent years, whether due to the pandemic caused by the 2019 coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) that ravaged the entire world, or due to other diseases, we mourn the death of graduates, students, and fellow teachers, some of whom were pioneers in the Pedagogy Course since its inception as a Higher Normal School. It is known that each person who leaves takes with them their lived history, and if there are no records, there will be no tangible legacy to immortalize their historical trajectory. Therefore, we cannot allow our history to remain unrecorded, locked in cabinets, or stagnant in documents amid the activism of daily actions.
