Resumo

This work will take us through the tangled trajectories and meanings of the so-called popular courses, which present themselves as a key piece in the contemporary educational scenario for students seeking a higher education degree in the country's colleges and for undergraduate students in training as a form of gain experience in the teaching field. In the first chapter, we will take a retrospective look at the process of creation and evolution of these institutions throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. We will explore the historical roots that gave rise to the prep courses, from their first manifestations to the remarkable transformations that shaped their configuration in the current period.
