Abstract

The text addresses a survey carried out in the neighborhood of Puraquequara, focusing on the production of vegetables and local economic circuits from a geographical perspective. The methodology involved unstructured interviews with local farmers, recorded by audio, written notes and photographs. The analysis of the results highlighted the perceptions of farmers about the economic challenges faced in the production and marketing of vegetables, relating these issues with theories of authors such as Milton Santos, Leila Dias and Rogério Silveira. Themes such as production practices, difficulties of farmers and local market dynamics were identified. The interpretation of the data, together with field observations, allowed a broader understanding of the local context. The comparative analysis with the theoretical framework contributed to contextualize the results and identify patterns and trends. The results revealed economic challenges faced by farmers, such as prices offered and daily difficulties of agricultural activity, in addition to highlighting the importance of local farmers in the supply of food for regional consumption and in the generation of income for the families involved. The comparison of the data collected with the theoretical framework broadened the understanding of the economic challenges faced by farmers, providing valuable insights for future investigations and interventions in the local context, thus contributing to a detailed view of the spatial circuit of vegetable production in the Puraquequara neighborhood Keywords: spatial circuit; production; Puraquequara
