Transporte fluvial e a rede urbana um estudo de caso em Parintins

Abstract

The present work talks about a topic of extreme relevance for the Amazonian context, which, because it is a region taken by rivers, needs navigation to connect people, loads and products, considering that the Amazonian cities still have little connection by highways. In this sense, there is dependence on vessels as a viable object for the maintenance and supply of metropolises and other urban centers. Therefore, the general objective is to identify how the fluvial transport of Santarém "Pará" influence the city of Parintins in the Amazon through cargo flows, the specific objectives are to describe the actors that articulate the fluvial transport companies and their scales, to show the products coming from other locations and mainly, those that are disembarked in the port of the city of Parintins. Cities are becoming increasingly dependent on articulations with each other as a way to streamline the “urban process”, as Roberto Lobato Corrêa says, with this each element present becomes fundamental for the construction and formation of cities. In this sense, we formulate the following hypothesis that the iron boats of the Pará cities “Belém” and “Santarém” would be contributing to the dynamics of the local urban network of Parintins through products, such as fruit and vegetables, among others. The methodological proposals succeed, in a bibliographical research on the urban network, internet sites, application of forms on the vessels, photographic records, the results showed that the city of Parintins is dependent on the vessels to supply or complement the food sector. It is intended a better understanding of the articulations of the urban network of (Amazonas and Pará) through river transport, elucidating the influences on the cities.
