Educação de jovens e adultos em uma escola municipal em Manaus/AM: reflexões sobre as aulas remotas no contexto da pandemia de covid-19

Resumo

With the Covid-19 pandemic, various sectors of society had to suspend or adapt their activities, as physical and social distancing was considered one of the appropriate measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. In this context, schools had to rethink their practices and adapt to Remote Learning, which was set up as an emergency measure to continue classes during the pandemic. With this in mind, the theme of this work was to understand and problematize the implications of the pandemic for Youth and Adult Education - EJA through remote teaching, used to avoid interrupting the school calendar in Manaus. We also sought to understand how the pandemic represented a major challenge not only for education professionals, but also for students, as not all of them had access to the internet to carry out their studies. All of this, added to the difficulties already faced by the EJA before the pandemic, proved to be an even greater weakness of this modality. The methodology adopted in the research is a qualitative approach with fieldwork, based on the historical-critical-dialectical method, using interviews with teachers, questionnaires with students and observation as data collection procedures. As a result, we found that remote teaching aggravated a scenario that was already fragile in the EJA and that the pandemic brought technology as an alternative for not interrupting the school calendar. Remote teaching has proved to be exclusionary, selective and has reinforced the social inequalities that already exist in relation to the EJA, since there was no reference in the opinions, guidelines and ordinances that regulated remote teaching regarding the weaknesses and differences that involve the subjects that make up Youth and Adult Education.
