Resumo
This article is the result of research that aimed to understand aspects of the Base Education Movement-MEB in the community of Maranhão. Based on theoretical-methodological issues in the field of Social History and dialogues with the methodology of Oral History (Delgado,2010; Pollak,1992; Alberti,2011; Caprini,2010; Portelli,1997; Meihy,2002), we recorded and analyzed the trajectories and life experiences of three course participants, from the aforementioned locality, 1970-1990), illuminating elements of the History of the complex of communities that make up what is called "Maranhão pole". The information collected in such narratives helps not only in the history of the individual trajectories of course participants, but also presents their experiences, collective experiences and new knowledge acquired within the scope of the MEB course. This becomes significant, as it contributes to recovering aspects of the history of education, from that literacy movement that was the MEB.
