Valorização da profissão contábil: o que pensam os especialistas em ciências contábeis atuantes no estado do Amazonas quanto à apreciação, reconhecimento e a importância da área nos dias atuais.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the conceptions of accounting professionals in the state of Amazonas in relation to the appreciation and recognition of this area of study. For this research, the quantitative approach was used, with the purpose of carrying out a descriptive-explanatory study. The method used for data collection was an electronic interview script. In this sense, 15 questions were organized, being applied from January 8th to 12th, 2023 and resulting in 88 responses from professionals in the field. As analyzed, many of those interviewed presented the view that the job market provides many opportunities, however, with low pay and many requirements regarding qualification. This creates an unfavorable and unattractive scenario for professionals in the field. It was also observed that many see the accounting profession as an undervalued area that is poorly integrated with technological advancement.
