Radiodermite em pacientes com câncer de cabeça e pescoço: perfil clínico e epidemiológico

Abstract

The present study was to describe the clinical and epidemiological profile of patients with head and neck cancer undergoing radiotherapy treatment. Method: This is a cross-sectional, retrospective and descriptive research, carried out through documentary analysis of medical records of patients with head and neck cancer undergoing radiotherapy treatment. Results: there was a male predominance, aged between 60-79 years and mixed race. The oropharynx was the most common location of the tumor, followed by the larynx and nasopharynx. Squamous cell carcinoma was the most prevalent diagnosis, with stage III being the most common. Systemic arterial hypertension was the most common comorbidity. Radiodermatitis affected 35.5% of patients undergoing radiotherapy. In this group, 97.8% received treatment with linear accelerator and 3D technique, combined with concomitant chemotherapy. However, a care gap was observed, as 64.5% did not receive nursing consultations or guidance. Conclusion: This study described the clinical-epidemiological profile of 93 patients with head and neck cancer who underwent radiotherapy in Amazonas. The study highlights the need for screening, monitoring and personalized approaches.
