Resumo
Considering the level of conceptual difficulties presented by the abstract nature of chemistry, models and the difficulties that students have in understanding aspects of this content, the idea that students need teaching resources that allow them to model from the concrete is reinforced. microscopic view of chemical substances and their manipulation. To this end, this work aimed to evaluate the contribution of molecular and ionic models as a teaching resource in teaching practice. The models were handmade with rollon balls collected from the trash, and used as a teaching resource in chemical bonds and molecular geometry classes in a first year high school class. The results show that there was a good acceptance of the models, as a teaching resource, by teachers and students, this allowed positive contributions to the teaching-learning process on the subject of chemical bonds. This was due to the models created being a good macroscopic representation of the chain of atoms arranged and linked in molecules and chemical formulas.
