Resumo
To analyze, through a literature review, the importance of the presence of the partner during monitoring of the pregnancy cycle, in favoring the relationship between the father-mother and child. inclusion criteria include articles related to the study topic published in Portuguese, English and Spanish, between 2018 and 2023. Results: For the purpose of the review, 17 articles were selected, and after careful reading focusing on information pertinent to the research, it was It was possible to develop three categories of analysis to better understand the data, which were: The partner's perception of the importance of their participation in the prenatal routine; The presence of the partner in prenatal consultations and the factors that interfere and; The benefits of paternal participation in prenatal care, childbirth and postpartum care. Conclusion: The findings of this review showed that the majority of partners do not know their rights regarding their participation in this process. It also showed that paternal participation in prenatal care is extremely important as it provides unique benefits to the Mother-Father-Child trinomial
