Resumo
This article aims to analyze the forms of violence experienced by the Mura Indigenous people since the 17th century, based on a bibliographic review. It highlights the strategies of resistance and the dynamics of exploitation that emerged among these people in the face of European colonization and invasion. The research seeks to understand how such violence brought about changes in the lives and daily routines of this Indigenous group throughout their contact with colonizers. The results and data obtained during the research are analyzed in dialogue with authors who have previously studied the history of these people. The work is divided into four sections: the first provides a brief history of the Mura people from the banks of the Madeira River; the second addresses the historical resistance of the Mura; the third examines past violence against the Mura people; and the fourth addresses violence against the Mura Indigenous people in the present. Finally, the study's concluding remarks are presented.
