Agricultura familiar de várzea a produção de hortaliças como alternativa econômica sustentável na comunidade Menino Deus, Paraná de Parintins- AM

Abstract

Family farming, especially the cultivation of vegetables, has grown considerably in recent years in the State of Amazonas, with the highest occurrence of this agricultural activity being in the floodplain environment. Thus, the objective of this study was to analyze family farming in a floodplain ecosystem from the production of vegetables in the community Menino Deus, rural area of Parintins-AM, where 22 families live, among these families, only 01 (one) develops in the community to Family Farming, object of research. There was direct observation of the research site and application of semi-structured forms for data collection for analysis of results. It was found that the production unit cultivates 02 (two) species of vegetables of economic importance, watermelon and cabbage. The practice of family farming in the studied community proved to be important in the social and economic integration of the farmer in that locality, strengthening the dynamics and environmental awareness in the community. It was concluded that it is necessary to elaborate public policies, at the municipal level, in order to support the development of the vegetable production system in the city of Parintins.
