Camadas de proteção para o patrimônio arqueológico da região do baixo Amazonas

Abstract

This paper presents the results of the Scientific Initiation research developed within the scope of the State University of Amazonas, emphasizing the archaeological heritage of seven border municipalities in the Lower Amazon region. The research aimed to strengthen the protection of archaeological sites through the individual preparation of registration forms along with the use of the digital map as a management and public visibility tool with the inclusion of overlapping indigenous lands for more effective protection of this heritage in the Amazonian context. From the analysis of the archaeological digital map, which brings together 138 georeferenced sites, it was found that 65 of these sites did not have a record in the database of the National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN). We focused our efforts on the individualized completion of registration forms for the archaeological sites that were missing. As a result, 65 registration forms were prepared using the Archaeological Site Registration and Censorship program. This would allow the process to begin forwarding these records to IPHAN (National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage), aiming for official registration in the Integrated Knowledge and Management System (SICG), with the purpose of reinforcing the protection of archaeological heritage in the territory and contributing to the recognition of the historical relevance of these cultural assets.
