This paper aims to understand the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the
resale price of gasoline in Amazonas, while tests such as this behaved during the
pandemic waves and appraise the association between gasoline prices and the
advance of covid-19 in Amazonas. Gasoline plays an important role in the economy,
offering the prices of goods and services negotiated - to some degree - related to its
price, affecting their promotion relations directly and indirectly. Thus, it is essential to
understand the dynamics that govern the resale prices of this fuel. For this purpose,
this article is based on documentary research, having as its source statistical wave
data provided by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels -ANP,
which will qualify to identify a trend of greater price dispersion during the first and
second coronaviruses in the state, reaching a variation of 12% and 6% around the
average price, respectively. Notwithstanding, it was verified dissimilar trends in the
level of prices between the waves, while in the first wave there was a drop in prices, in
the second to visualized a great evaluation of the levels.
