Item As representações simbólicas em “Filhos da Várzea”, de Anibal Beça(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2019-01-21) Almeida, Socorro Viana de; Silva, Adriano Ferreira daAnalyzing the Amazonian culture in the quest to find the dominant that mobilizes it, it faces a real universe populated by beings, signs, images, facts, attitudes that can indicate multiple possibilities of analysis and interpretation. This research proposes to analyze the verbal images and symbolic representations in three poems of the book Sons of the Várzea, of Aníbal Beça. In order to carry out this analysis, the work of Charles Sanders Peirce (1839-1914), North American semiotics, is used as a theoretical contribution, considering that it can contribute with a broader analysis of the concrete and abstract material, besides other works of relevance for the search. It is observed that the author performs through signs and symbols the representation of the Amazonian culture, highlighting the daily life of the caboclo, the space and the local imaginary.
