This study aims to evaluate the environmental impacts on Orla da União, located on the right bank of Lake Macurany, located in the Municipality of Parintins/AM. The analysis will focus on environmental changes caused by disorderly human occupation and the lack of adequate infrastructure. The research focuses on the assessment of environmental impacts on the right bank of Lake Macurany, located in the Paulo Corrêa and União neighborhoods in Parintins/AM. Using a qualitative and exploratory approach, the study combines literature review, field research and application of the Rapid Assessment Protocol (PAR) to identify and evaluate the main environmental impacts, especially during periods of low water and flood. Data collection includes direct observations, photographic records and application of specific forms, the results of which are analyzed and presented in graphs for comparison and interpretation of the observed environmental impacts. The research reveals a series of environmental challenges in Orla da União, on the shore of Lake Macurany in Parintins/AM, including pollution from solid and liquid waste, lack of basic sanitation infrastructure and accelerated erosion. These problems highlight the urgent need for interventions to preserve the environment and promote sustainability in the area. The inadequate application of current environmental laws worsens the ongoing degradation of the lake's shores, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between municipal bodies and society to effectively implement environmental protection measures.

Food waste is a problem seen throughout the world, with it being estimated that around 1/3 of everything produced worldwide is lost. In Brazil, it is considered that around 26 million tons of solid waste are discarded per year. As an alternative to reducing or avoiding this waste, Integral Food Use (AIA) consists of completely using food, without wasting stalks, peels or leaves. This study aimed to guide the community on the importance of making full use of fruits and vegetables, by creating sustainable, low-cost recipes that bring benefits to the population. A presentation of samples was made to taste the recipes and test their acceptability. Tasting participants expressed surprise at the recipes. All recipes were well accepted despite initial strangeness and distrust. Thus, a book of recipes based on the full use of food was created. The work developed demonstrated the feasibility of full use of non-conventional parts of fruits and vegetables by the population, which has as a barrier to its implementation the lack of knowledge in society about such practices, combined with the culture of consumerism and practicality of today's world, which it generates prejudice towards these unconventional parties and little willingness to take advantage of actions and the consequent waste.

This study titled "Articulation between Popular Knowledge and School Knowledge for Teaching and Learning Botany: An Investigation with Students from a Rural Public School in Parintins/AM" aims to investigate how students' traditional knowledge can be integrated into formal botany education to promote meaningful learning. I conducted the research at the Municipal School Nossa Senhora das Graças, involving 15 seventh-grade students. The methodology included practical activities such as fruit collection walks, discussion circles to explore popular knowledge, and the creation of a carpoteca. The results showed that students possess rich prior knowledge about the medicinal and nutritional uses of fruits, which were deepened and valued within the school context. Additionally, students learned scientific concepts about fruit morphology in a meaningful way. I concluded that integrating popular and school knowledge enriches learning, strengthens students' cultural identity, and promotes more contextualized and relevant education. I recommend adopting these practices in other subjects to create a stronger connection between formal education and students' life experiences.

The use of drawings and diagrams emerges as advantageous in the teaching of zoology. This study aims to investigate the use of drawings and texts in the teaching and learning process in zoology for undergraduate students in Biological Sciences. The methodology used in the research had a qualitative approach and participant observation. The instruments used for the development of the research included bibliographic review, direct classroom observation, and interviews with the Zoology teacher and students of the Zoology course taught by the teacher. The research took place at the University of the State of Amazonas – Center for Higher Studies of Parintins. The subjects of the research were students from the 4th semester of Biological Sciences who were taking the Invertebrates II course. The results obtained through observations and questionnaires applied in the classroom were quite efficient, as both the teacher and the students were able to clearly express their opinions about the methodology used in the classroom, which involved drawings and diagrams. Based on the analysis, it can be stated that the use of drawings and diagrams stimulates students' curiosity and interest in the subjects addressed. With the development of differentiated methodologies, it is possible to make students participate more actively, as well as enhance their understanding and assimilation of existing concepts in zoology. Drawings and diagrams can play an important role, encouraging students to seek new knowledge, as they stimulate cognitive skills and assimilation.

A valorização dos saberes populares no ensino de ciências em uma escola ribeirinha do município de Parintins – AM: os saberes dos alunos sobre os vegetais
(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2025-01-10) Silva, Sabrina Hilda Nunes; Araújo, Joeliza Nunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3983892958051440; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0183981583380043; Araújo, Joeliza Nunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3983892958051440
Popular knowledge is knowledge accumulated over time by communities, transmitted orally and based on practical experiences. Integrating them into formal education allows for a deeper connection between the teacher and the student, between school knowledge and the students' popular knowledge. From this perspective, this research aimed to investigate the contribution of popular knowledge from riverside students in learning scientific concepts in Plant Morphology. The research was carried out at the Santa Maria Municipal School located in the agricultural village of Mocambo do Arari in the municipality of Parintins/AM. The research methodology was developed from a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 11 students from the 7th year of Elementary School and the data collection instruments included the theoretical foundation and a didactic sequence on “the characteristics of angiosperms: flowers and fruits”. The didactic sequence included: Tour around the community; Collection of branches and fruits; Conversation Circle; Production of drawings and texts about flowers; Production of drawing and text about the fruits; Carpoteca production and drywall production. The data obtained in the research were qualitatively analyzed based on the didactic sequence. We concluded that the application of the didactic sequence allowed the popular knowledge of the researched students to be revealed. The students recognized the ecological importance of flowers and fruits; the social dimension of plants for food, traditional medicine, production of perfumes and soaps (flowers). With the development of activities in the sequence, students learned about the biological importance of flowers, fruits and seeds for the sexual reproduction of plants; recognized the ecological importance of the fruits: protecting the seeds and the affection generated by contact with the flowers due to the pleasant aroma, vibrant colors, etc. The descriptions made by students in the texts and the drawings of flowers and fruits are rich in information about popular knowledge and scientific knowledge learned during the execution of the didactic sequence. Therefore, the development of this work contributed to the integration of popular knowledge with scientific knowledge in Botany and Natural Sciences.
