Item A relevância do cirurgião dentista na adequação do meio bucal de um paciente com carcinoma espinocelular Relato de caso cínico(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2017-12-11) Rodrigues, Noélia CostaThe incidence of oral cancer has been increasing, with an estimated 2016, about 11.140 new cases in men and 4,350 in women. Smokers and stylists are the main etiological factors. This paper aims to report a clinical case of a patient who required dental treatment for the adequacy of the buccal environment. A 52-year-old male patient was attended in the specialization course in dentistry for patients with special needs at the University of the State of Amazonas with a major complaint of tooth pain during the anamnesis, he was also reported to be a smoker. In the intraoral examination, root rests and condemned elements were observe an erythematous, erythematous, erythematous-shaped tissue lesion was detected with ulcerations with involvement of the mandible in the anterior region associated with the bacterial biofilm. An incisional biopsy was performed that indicated the diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma of the floor of the mouth. Exodontia of the condemned teeth was performed, and then sent to the Foundation of Oncology Control Center of Amazonas-FCECON, where resection surgery (pelveglossomandibulectomy) was performed, associated with bilateral neck dissection. The present case reports that the diagnosis of CPB detected in advanced stage, was observed staging T = 4, which influenced to an unfavorable prognosis leading the patient to death. In view of this, we suggest that research be geared towards publicizing the incidence of cancer in the Amazon, as well as the need to implement public policies in the prevention and control of cancer
