Item Fatores de risco para doenças cardiovasculares em adolescentes: riscos biológicos e comportamentais(UEA, 2018-08-22) Sousa, Regina dos SantosTo determine the prevalence of biological and behavioral risk factors for cardiovascular diseases in adolescents. Method: Descriptive cross-sectional study of a quantitative approach in a sample of 60 adolescents aged 14 to 17 years of the Adventist School of Freedom located on Freedom Hill. Questionnaires with closed questions were applied to investigate risk factors for cardiovascular diseases in adolescents. Results: Female adolescents 56.7%, aged 16 years 28.3%, brown 63.3%, living with parents 66.7%, and with family income of 1-2SM, 65%. Body mass index (BMI) of 93.3% eutrophic. Prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors in adolescents by sex was: insufficient levels of physical activity of 84% female, 64.3% in male, 66.7% in male, 64.4% in male. Family history for cardiovascular diseases 55.0% of parents had hypertension and diabetes with the same percentage. Conclusion: Therefore it is possible to perceive the need for interventionist strategies in health in a school environment to make these adolescents healthier, incorporating healthy eating habits and practicing physical activity on a regular basis
