Item Avaliação dos óbitos infantis por trauma no Amazonas(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2018-08-23) Becil Junior, Manuel RoqueTo identify trauma mortality and the main causes in the pediatric population in the municipalities of Amazonas. Method: A descriptive study with data on traumatic infant deaths from DATASUS reporting on mortality from 0 to 19 years of age from the state of Amazonas, from 1996 to 2015. Outcome: A total of 8,192 cases of traumatic infant deaths between 1996 and 2015. When comparing the number of events and the rates of the main causes of trauma deaths in the state of Amazonas, it is observed that the aggressions with 37.7%, followed by drowning with 18.9% and transportation accidents with 18.8%. Conclusion: The state of Amazonas presents a high rate of pediatric deaths due to aggression, mainly in the capital city of ManausItem Panorama atual da violência doméstica contra crianças e adolescentes na região Norte do Brasil(UEA, 2018-08-21) Borchartt, Vitória GonçalvesTo describe the panorama of cases of violence against children and adolescents in the family context of the northern Brazilian states. Method: This is a quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive study that was carried out using data collected through the Information System of Notification Diseases (SINAN), in the Electronic System of the Ministry of Health ( DATASUS) .Results: The rates of violence against children and adolescents in the North Region are found in a greater number of reported cases in children aged 10 to 14 years and 15 to 19 years, respectively, in the States of Acre and Roraima, among years from 2010 to 2014, more cases of violence against women were reported in all states than males, with a higher rate in the state of Amazonas and the lowest in Rondônia. In terms of schooling, the highest index of notifications was evidenced among subjects with incomplete elementary education, the ethnicity that received the most notifications was the color brown in all the states, but the high proportion of indigenous victims in the state of Roraima stands out. Conclusion: In view of the present study, we can observe that the panorama of cases of violence against children and adolescents in the North of Brazil present high rates, showing a scenario that requires interventions from the sectors responsible for this type of violence
