Item Avaliação dos distúrbios no metabolismo dos carboidratos em pacientes com zumbido atendidos em um serviço de referência em otorrinolaringologia no Amazonas(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2019-01-18) Delfino, Ana Carolina Guimarães; Oliveira, Viviane Saldanha; Monteiro, Mariana Raposo Alencar; Soares, Alex Wilker Alves; Rodrigues, Max Lucas MartinsTinnitus is a sensation of sound perceived by the individual in the absence of external sound stimuli. Objective: evaluate the prevalence of changes in the metabolism of carbohydrates in tinnitus patients treated at a referral center for ENT and cervicofacial surgery in the city of Manaus. This is an observational, cross-sectional and prospective study of application and analysis of data from forms of patients with tinnitus. We evaluated 21 patients with tinnitus and 52.4% female. The patients had between 31 (minimum age) and 86 years (maximum age), with a mean of 53. The most frequent buzzing sound descriptions were wheezing (33.3%), zum (14.3%) and whistle ( 14.3%). Of assessed, 28.6% reported bilateral tinnitus with greater intensity on the left, 28.6% were suggestive of blood glucose diabetes mellitus and 9.5% had impaired glucose tolerance. It was found that 38.1% of patients showed blood glucose above the normal value, and in 28.6% values were suggestive of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Objective: To study the laryngeal manifestations in patients with rheumatoid arthritis treated at an otolaryngology referral service of Manaus. This is a cross-sectional prospective study with clinical assessment and laryngoscopy of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. We studied 43 patients, of whom 81.4% were female. The main complaints were laryngeal dysphonia in 76.8% and 32.6% in pharyngeal globus. The most common videolaryngoscopic finding was the posterior laryngitis found in 97.7%. Possible findings related to RA were the posterior laryngitis and vocal fold nodule. The posterior laryngitis was the main finding and may be associated with RA and / or secondary pharyngolaryngeal reflux to drug treatment for rheumatoid arthritis.
