The most important thing was that, even in a quarantine, we also didn't stand still. Together we continue the training activities, creating a joint reading schedule and virtual meetings through the Google Meet app. They saw: we ended up doing things that we didn't do before. Despite the challenges of online communication many have tried to adapt to the “new” forms of learning and the creativity has been the flagship in this totally atypical period in which we are living. It is true that not everyone can navigate this sea of information and digital innovations that reach us through social media and digital platforms, due to several factors such as: lack of internet access, lack of identification with these readings or even difficulty in access to these tools. Even so, the involvement of students from the Project “Reading Practices: Training and Action for Reading Mediators” in the most varied spheres of knowledge that digital tools provide us.Item Projeto práticas leitoras: boletim n.4: mapeando bibliotecas em Presidente Figueiredo(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2020-04-05)One of the challenges that our members had to meet was to visit libraries and reading spaces that they knew or had heard of. Identifying existing spaces in our surroundings is the first step to start attending them. And once set, we can make ourselves present and propose possible reading mediation projects. But in Presidente Figueiredo there is no public policy specifically focused on the book, reading, with a plan, proposals and actions of not even a Municipal Culture Law for this area. In case you know something about it, share it with us. For now, let's know what's up! THE PUBLIC LIBRARY PROFESSOR RUI SOUTO DE ALENCAR was officially opened in 2008, having received as a donation from the National Library its collection and your furniture (bookcase, tables and books). Between 2009 and 2010, it had an average of visitation of around 1500 people. In the period from 2010 to 2018, however, it had the presence of an audience of 400 people and last year it received only 300 although the population of Presidente Figueiredo grows every year and the municipality be an international tourist attraction. Have you ever been there? The PUBLIC LIBRARY works from Monday to Friday, from 7am to 1pm. O service is under the responsibility of technicians who have been awarded by the City Hall without training in the area of books, reading and literature. The environment is not attractive for the entrance of population, without identification plate and access signs. Without an invitation to entrance, it ceases to be a space aimed at providing services to the community, with information, entertainment and training, leisure area, study and creation. If it was okay care, it would become a living space for the whole community, as Parque Libraries provide, with a very current concept of public library. Although it is the responsibility of the municipal authorities, the library has the support from the state government, being dependent on actions such as the “Mania de Ler” project which inserts the library in the annual reading activities calendar of the Secretariat of Culture of the State of Amazonas. So, instead of showing purposeful action, engaged with the community that attends, the PROFESSOR RUI PUBLIC LIBRARY SOUTO DE ALENCAR receives activities from another municipality that centralizes the promotion of literature.Item Projeto práticas leitoras: boletim n.2: formação e ação para mediadores de leitura(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2019-11-07)We took advantage of the closing of 2019 activities of the Reading Practices Project: Training and Action for Reading Mediators to check out the reading incentive activities promoted by the community library that we visited last time: the Paulo Freire Library which is in the Cristo Rei Community, at km 28 of the road Figueiredo-Balbina (AM), coordinated by Professor Elzimar Ferreira.Item Projeto práticas leitoras: boletim n.1: biblioteca comunitária Paulo Freire(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2019-10-26)The extension project highlights the passion for reading in every way, whether by the books read or by the narratives documents that expand from the teacher's home to the school where he teaches through traveling reading bags that provide the loan of books to whoever wants and the boxes scattered around the city.
