Resumo
The gangs from the city of FaroPá, has been getting stronger for a long time as a cultural manifestation, becoming known for the unique way of dancing hillbilly as the gang is seen. Based on this premise, the present work had as main objective to analyze the main cultural transformations of the festival of square dances in the city of FaroPá, identifying the influences that contributed to the transformations. For this, it was necessary to perform a qualitative research, which sought to do an analysis based in the insertion of the researcher in the research area. The main strategy used to his insertion in the field was through his involvement, as a member of a gang in June. The selection of research subjects was based on their experience and involvement with the festival, due to a better contribution to the analysis, this led to delimitation in the two older gangs (Foliões da Madrugada and Campinense in Arraiá), after the collection of data and the analysis of the interviews, it was identified the main influences pointed out by the interviewees as: the ciranda of ManacapuruAm, Boi Bumb of Parintins Am and the use of technology at the party, which modernized the gangs and disseminated through the internet.
