Resumo
We live in a society characterized by coexistence with science and
technology. Therefore, it is essential that individuals are literate
scientifically and technologically. Based on these considerations, we seek with this
work contributes to students’ scientific and technological literacy through
thematic workshop “Water pollution from domestic sewage: eutrophication process” in
a Science-Technology-Society (STS) perspective. Developed within the scope of
curricular component Supervised Internship III, in which the design,
preparation and implementation of thematic workshops in Chemistry classes for the 1st year of
High school in the city of Tefé. This included activities such as interview script,
guiding questions, lecture and experimentation. Thematic workshop activities
enable the exploration of students’ prior knowledge, which contributed to
understanding the theme, enabling students to (re)signify the problem with
a more critical reading, active participation in workshop activities, argumentation
from experimentation, essential for conscious decision-making, in addition to helping
students in the social perception of the topic discussed. It is therefore concluded that the
application of the thematic workshop, developed in this work, is relevant to literacy
scientific, as it will help in the citizenship training of students, as it contributes to
the student rethinks and reflects on the topic addressed.
