Resumo
The Portuguese language holds fundamental importance in the teaching-learning process, as it
is the primary communicative tool used by society. In this context, the relevance of grammar
instruction in schools stands out, playing a significant role in education by providing students
with the necessary skills to express ideas clearly, cohesively, and effectively. Therefore, the
objective of this work is to examine the use of grammatical cohesion tools that assist in the
development of students' writing, promoting creative and satisfactory teaching. The
methodology used in this research involved the application of bibliographic research, field
research, and qualitative research. In this sense, the adopted approach provided a broad and indepth focus on writing instruction, emphasizing grammatical study and textual cohesion as
substantial aspects for enhancing students' writing skills. To establish the theoretical
framework, the research drew on various authors, whose contributions were crucial for the
study's development. Notable names include Neves, Antunes, Lakatos, Minayo, Cunha,
Martelotta, Travaglia, Dolz, Cintra, Marconi, Schneuwly, and other renowned specialists in the
addressed thematic field. The results obtained were positive, as students felt more confident
using connection resources and were able to convey their ideas with greater clarity. This
highlights the importance of education directed towards textual cohesion, contributing to the
formation of individuals capable of expressing themselves efficiently and coherently through
writing.
