Resumo
The present work has as its theme the "Ready to serve and protect: the 3rd Military
Police Battalion in Tefé." Our general objective was to analyze the main forms of action
of the Military Police of the 3rd Military Police Battalion. As for the methodology, we
used qualitative research, bibliographic research, field research, interviews, semi structured questionnaires and document analysis. The main theoretical bases were
the Federal Constitution (1988), the Law of Basic Organization of the Military Police
of Amazonas (2010), the Statute of Military Police of the State of Amazonas (1975)
and other authors that complemented the approach of this theme being, Pessoa
(2003), Vasconcelos (2018), Silva (2017), Brandão (2019), among others. In the
course of the work, a bibliographic survey was carried out from the implementation of
the 3rd BPM to the present day, highlighting weaknesses and strengths of the
Solimões Battalion. It was discussed about the Educational Program for Resistance
to Drugs and Violence, the Ronda no Bairro Program, Ronda Maria da Penha, the
educational lectures in public schools and the Formando Cidadãos Program. The
military of the 3rd BPM are aware that police activity is risky work, despite this courage,
determination, esprit de corps, the feeling of duty speak louder and they are daily on
the streets risking their lives for the benefit of society . The main operationalized
activities carried out are river patrols to combat piracy in rivers, policing and patrolling
on motorcycles, Operation Sentinelas in the Corners of Amazonas XVII, inspection
operations at the Tefé Prison Unit, transit operations, community visits and school
rounds, in addition to social projects that work with the prevention of children and
adolescents. In the course of the work, it became evident that the 3rd BPM Police
officers have worked tirelessly to maintain law, order and social peace.
