Resumo
The supervised internship is essential for the initial training of teachers. Thus, the present article, which deals with
"The importance of supervised internship in teacher education in Languages". Its general objective was to investigate
the contributions that the supervised internship provides for initial training. This investigation sought to highlight
what a supervised internship is and its importance for teacher training, to investigate whether the supervised internship
is suitable for current professional training, to find out the possible difficulties faced by trainees during their
internship in public schools, and to identify the skills and competencies required for teachers to work in the current
context. As methodological route was based on the qualitative research method and were performed the bibliographic
survey based on the authors Chizzotti (2006), Vergara (2010), Drucker (2002), Gisi et al (2000), Guimarães (apud
Pimenta,2012), Lakatos; Marconi (2003),Lima (2006), Nóvoa (1997), (Tardif (2002),Tedesco (1998), Drucker (2002),
Rios (2001), Pimenta and Lima (2012), Rocha (2004) and Teixeira (2005). And it was made the field research carried
out in the Center of Higher Studies of Tefé of the Amazonas State University (UEA), having as investigated subjects
ten academics in formation of the 6th and 8th periods of the course of letters. For data collection a questionnaire with
six questions was applied, among which "four open and two closed", which were tabulated, interpreted by the
researcher and dialogued with the authors of the theoretical basis. The results showed that this article presents a conception of the supervised internship as being of fundamental importance for the formation of teachers of Letters.
The data collected and analyzed are confirmed with the ideas of the authors studied, respectively, answering the
general objective of the research, about the contributions of the supervised internship in teacher training in Letras.
