Resumo

This study evaluated the conditions of the laboratories in order to identify the conditioning and limiting factors for the use of this space. The target audience included teachers who teach Science and / or Biology in public schools in the city of Tefé / AM. A semi-structured form was used to obtain information on: presence / absence of laboratory at school, infrastructure, consumables and equipment, frequency of use, and use of pedagogical alternatives to make up for the absence of the laboratory. The interviews, conducted between September-November 2018, reached teachers who work in 11 schools in the city. The results indicated that 54.5% of schools have a laboratory for practical classes. Of this total, 83% have adequate building infrastructure. However, the lack of consumable materials and / or appropriate equipment and in good condition were pointed out by 50% of teachers as a limiting factor to the execution of practical classes. Therefore, it is concluded that the availability of inputs conditions the use of the laboratory in Science and / or Biology.
