Resumo
To analyze food consumption and know the Body Mass Index (BMI) of
pregnant women served by the Family Health Strategy (ESF). Method: Quantitative,
exploratory, cross-sectional and descriptive study, carried out in a family health strategy unit
(ESF) in the south of Manaus, in 2023. In pregnant women between 18 and 50 years old
using a structured questionnaire, anthropometric measurements , biochemical exams,
pregnant woman's booklet and Electronic Citizen's Record. The analysis was carried out
using descriptive and analytical statistics, the variables, their characteristics, distribution and
average, were analyzed, tables and graphs were created presenting the frequency and
percentage of the variables and their categories using the Jamovi software. Results: The
Body Mass Index of pregnant women at the beginning of prenatal care with eutrophy was
48% with inadequate food consumption. It was found that the pregnant women in the study at
the time of collection were overweight, 52% of the 28 pregnant women included in the
research. Insert part of the food consumption results. Conclusion: Pregnant women tend to
consume unhealthy foods during pregnancy, resulting in weight gain during pregnancy, which
can cause gestational problems, requiring the adoption of preventive measures in primary
health care
