A saúde das mulheres em situação de rua: vivências e realidades

Abstract

Characterize the health profile of homeless women in an area of Center of Manaus. Method: study with a qualitative, exploratory approach, through application of an interview script with closed and open questions with ten women in street situation and who attend the D. Sérgio Eduardo Castriani Welcome Center of Pastoral do Povo da Rua da Arquidiocese de Manaus (PPR Manaus). Result: the age of women who prevailed were 31 and 60 years old (60%), 40% have a stable partner, 60% with incomplete primary education. Among the participants, 90% were unemployed and 40% declared themselves Christians. They reported difficulty in cleaning themselves, difficult access to personal hygiene products, difficulty eating and accessing health services health. Conclusion: These women are influenced by social determinants of health, as are exposed to a lack of economic resources, housing, education and basic sanitation, leaving them at social and health risk for acquiring various infectious and/or chronic diseases.
